Natalia came to the UK in 1997 to study Fine Art at the university of Newcastle upon Tyne. She began painting, mainly landscapes from direct observation, from a very young age. She specialised in sculpture while at Newcastle university graduating in 2001. This was followed by an MA in Fine Art, Theatre Design at the Slade, UCL where she graduated in 2003. Natalia then worked in theatre and took an Art Education masters degree at the Institute of Education followed by a spell of teaching in secondary education.
Natalia now concentrates on making jewellery. She began her jewellery line a few years ago because she lacked a studio space and wanted to create sculptures on a much smaller scale. She treats the necklaces she makes as collages and sculptures, thinking of them mainly as compositions. Each one is completely unique and she uses vintage handmade pieces, beads and found-objects that she has discovered as well as making some of the elements herself.
